Migrating a site from another host

Migrating a site from another host to Orax — in one pass, without manually downloading and uploading files. The system does it over SSH, showing the migration progress in real time.

How to start:

  1. Open the “Site migration” section.
  2. Enter the source server details (address, SSH access) and the destination.
  3. Start — the system connects, copies the files (and, where supported, the database) and shows a live feed of steps.

What you'll need:

  • SSH access to the old host (login/password or key).
  • Knowing where the site and its database live on the old server.

After migration:

  • Check the site in its new home (open it, look at the logs).
  • Update the database credentials in the config if they changed.
  • Point the domain to Orax (NS or A record) and issue SSL.

Tip: don't delete the site from the old host right away — make sure everything works on Orax and the domain has switched. For complex cases, support can help.
