Enabling two-factor auth (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of login security: besides your MyIT account you need a one-time code from an authenticator app.
How to enable:
- Open Settings → Security.
- Click “Enable 2FA” — a QR code appears.
- Scan it with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.).
- Enter the code from the app to confirm.
- Save the backup recovery codes somewhere safe — they help you sign in if you lose your phone.
How it works afterward: at sign-in after MyIT the system asks for a 6-digit code from the app. The code changes every 30 seconds, so it's hard to intercept.
If you lose access to the authenticator, use a backup code. All sign-ins and 2FA enable/disable events are recorded in the security journal.
We strongly recommend enabling 2FA — it sharply reduces the risk of account takeover.
