Cron jobs

Cron is a scheduler: it runs your scripts on a schedule (e.g. mailing, imports, cleanup, WordPress/Laravel cron).

Where to set it: service → “CRON” section.

Two modes:

  • Simple — pick a ready schedule from the list (every minute, hour, day, week, month, etc.) and enter the command.
  • Expert — set the 5 cron fields manually (minute, hour, day, month, weekday) for a precise schedule.

What to put in the command: usually the path to the interpreter and script, e.g. /usr/bin/php /home/.../cron.php. For Laravel — artisan schedule:run every minute.

Tips:

  • Don't schedule heavy tasks too often — it loads your account.
  • If a job doesn't fire, check the path to php and the file, execute permissions and the script's logs.

The resulting schedule line is shown under the fields — handy to verify before adding.
