Auto-renew

Auto-renewal removes the risk of a service being switched off simply because you forgot to renew it.

How to turn it on

Open the service → Settings → the Auto-renewal switch. Each service has its own; it can be turned on or off at any time.

When the money is taken

On the expiry day, not before. Until then we only remind you — 7, 3 and 1 day ahead, and only if the renewal is not covered.

If there is enough, the service is extended by the same period and you get a notice. If not, a "renewal failed" notice arrives and the service goes into suspension.

If money is set aside on the service itself

Such a service renews itself even with auto-renewal off. Setting money aside for one particular order IS the instruction to spend it, and letting the service lapse with its own money sitting on it would be wrong.

So an order funded by its own earmark is neither reminded about nor coloured as urgent: in the services list it carries a "renews itself" mark.

What happens without payment

After expiry the service is suspended: the site stops opening, but files and databases are kept. If it is not paid within the allotted period, the account is deleted along with its data.

Tip

Keep at least the next renewals' worth on the balance — the dashboard says how much. More reliable still: bind a card and switch on wallet auto top-up.
